Óscar is an alumnus of InnerCity Struggle’s youth program, United Students and the Brothers, Sons, Selves Coalition. As a Garfield High School student, Óscar was first introduced to community organizing and activism. Through United Students, Óscar developed a passion for youth organizing as he fought for legislation that improved the conditions of young boys and men of color in Los Angeles. Óscar earned his B.S. in Political Science from U.C. Riverside, where he dedicated the past five years organizing communities in the Inland Empire. Óscar returned to the Eastside in 2018, where he now serves as a Youth Organizer at Mendez High School and with the Brothers, Sons, Selves Coalition.
