Coming out of retirement to support the next generation of activists was Cecilia’s way of fighting the status quo. Born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in South LA, Cecilia began her activism in the 1960s and 1970s as a student leader at Huntington Park High School where she and her schoolmates walked out to demand a better education.

Cecilia firmly believes in the power of building youth voice. She brings over 35 years of experience in Human Resources and Administration, specializing in Healthcare and Non-profit agencies. As Operations Director, she oversees Development and Administration, internal communications, provides HR expertise, ensures the organization’s 501(c)3 compliance and creates and improves internal policies. Cecilia also works with the ICS Controller to manage operations and capital campaign budgets. Cecilia is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is SPHR certified.
