Brenda was born in Villa Jimenez, Michoacán Mexico and graduated from Jose Vasconcelos Institute with a degree in Accounting. She came to the United States in 1994 and attended Lincoln High School and East Los Angeles Community College earning a certificate in Child Development. Brenda is the mother of four adult children. As a single parent, she worked full-time as an early educator prior to joining InnerCity Struggle. Brenda is grateful for the support her child received as a youth member of InnerCity Struggle’s programs and is inspired by young people and their ability to drive change in the Eastside community.
