Angelo Antonio
Grant Writer

Gender Pronouns: He/Him/His

Angelo Antonio cultivated his love for narrative amongst the deeply rich, complex, and often violently conflicting histories of Los Angeles, where his formal studies earned him both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Literature. Upon graduation, he taught first-year composition and rhetoric at Santa Monica College and Cal Lutheran University, two primarily Hispanic-Serving Institutions, where he had the joy of acclimating first-generation college students like himself to the institutional dynamic. For him, the writing classroom served as a place of radical agency and restorative justice, where he could share with students the tools for articulation and self-advocacy. This work naturally deepened his commitment to conversations around equity, which would ultimately bring him into the non-profit space. Angelo joined ICS in 2022 as Grant Writer as a way to continue utilizing the power of words to bring material change to communities – to uplift and make legible the narratives of marginalized voices.
