Alexandra Mencias was born and raised in East Los Angeles. She attended the University of California, Irvine as a first-generation college student and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 2022. After graduating Alexandra moved back to East Los Angeles. Alexandra now works with the United Students team where she serves as a Site Organizer for Esteban E. Torres High School. She aspires to create strong bonds with youth and guide them through their journey of sociopolitical consciousness and help them develop their skills to become leaders of change for their communities.
