Beginning Saturday, March 20th InnerCity Struggle will be visiting residents in the greater East Los Angeles area in an effort to inform and encourage them about the importance of filling out and returning their 2010 Census forms. The greater Eastside community has been designated a "Hard to Count" area due to the significant percentage of residents that do not participate in the Census count that occurs every 10 years. This undercount results in the loss of millions of dollars in funds for potential social services that could benefit the community. In addition, an accurate Census count ensures that the Eastside communities are adequately represented in the Congressional redistricting that follows the census. Join InnerCity Struggle as we do community outreach to inform and encourage the greater East Los Angeles community to fill out and return their census forms and to be counted in the 2010 Census.
